Police search for suspects who tried to abduct teen girl in Seven Fields

SEVEN FIELDS — Police are asking for the public's help regarding a reported attempted abduction of a 13-year-old girl in the borough Monday night.

Sgt. Charles Mascellino of the Cranberry Township police said this morning police have no suspects and no witnesses have come forward to report seeing anything suspicious at the time the girl reported she was accosted.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Cranberry police at 724-776-5180, Ext. 5.

Cranberry provides police protection for Seven Fields.

The girl told authorities she was jogging on Old Franklin Road about 8:20 p.m. when a white, full-sized van with two men inside pulled alongside of her.

She claimed the driver spoke to her before stopping. Both men got out and tried to grab her, police said.

She screamed and fought with the men who left, a police news release said.

Officers from Cranberry and other police departments searched for but could not find the suspects or van.

The driver is described as white, heavy-set and about 50 years old. He was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans, heavy work boots and a green ball cap.

The girl said the other man is tan and thin, about 30, with short brown, spiked hair. He was wearing a brown T-shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.
