Sarah S. Cornelius
Sarah "Sally" Susan Cornelius, 68, of Franklin Township passed away Saturday afternoon at Butler Memorial Hospital following an illness.
She was born March 6, 1942, in New Castle and was the daughter of Thomas and Mary Reeher Wood.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Prospect, where she enjoyed working in many church activities.
She graduated from the Butler Hospital School of Nursing in 1963, and she worked at the hospital for several years. She was a member of the Butler Hospital Alumni Association.
She was a bus monitor for Bryan's Bus Co. in the Slippery Rock School District for many years.
She enjoyed bowling on the Early Bird League at Family Bowlaway in Butler. She also enjoyed being outdoors, camping, gardening and bus trips.
She was involved years ago in Boy Scouts of America with her sons.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Cornelius, who she married June 25, 1966; two sons, Michael (Melinda) Cornelius and Brian Cornelius, all of Butler; two grandchildren, Cassandra and Thomas; one sister, Mrs. Jerry (Nancy) DeWoody of Mercer; one aunt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
<B>CORNELIUS </B>— Visitation for Sarah "Sally" Susan Cornelius, who died Saturday, June 12, 2010, will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home</B>, 387 Main St., Prospect. Visitation also will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday with the funeral service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Rob Allison, her pastor, officiating.
