Leight

Gary Lynn Leight, 58, of Hendersonville, N.C., died Tuesday at the North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill following an extended illness.

A native of Butler, he was a prior resident of Dansville, N.Y., before moving to Henderson County three years ago.

He was a son of the late Lloyd E. Leight and Marion Cottrill Leight. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Leight, who died in 1998.

He was a Christian.

Survivors include his companion of more than nine years, Debra DiBartolo and her son, Joseph DiBartolo Jr.; four siblings, Ronald M. Leight and his wife, Judith, of Butler, Lloyd G. Leight of West Sunbury, Florence "Sis" Buongiorne and her husband, Don, of Rochester, N.Y., and Edward E. "Buck" Leight of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.
