Mary Leona Boyd Brison Gavula, 91, of Route 58, Parker, Richland Township, Clarion County, died at 1:54 a.m. Monday, in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Leona was born on Feb. 4, 1919, in Foxburg. She was the daughter of Harry L. and Nellie May Benn Boyd.

She attended Foxburg Elementary School and was a 1937 graduate of St. Petersburg-Richland High School. She was always proud of having 12 years of perfect attendance in school.

Leona was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Parker City Chapter 60 for more than 60 years. She had served the chapter as its worthy matron twice. She was a member of the Sandy Creek Grange in Franklin and the Noble Grand Minnie Rebekah Lodge 144 of Franklin.

She was a member of and a past president of the Auxiliary to the Miller-Rankin American Legion Post 636 of Foxburg, and later became a member of the Auxiliary to the Dehart Rossman-Wenner American Legion Post 0997 in Lamartine.

Leona was a lifetime member of the Foxburg United Methodist Church. She held various church offices and served on various committees of the church.

She enjoyed hummingbirds, cardinals, flowers, doing word search puzzles and playing bingo. She was a homemaker and enjoyed the company of her family.

Leona was married on July 31, 1938, in Natrona Heights to William Theodore Brison. He preceded her in death on April 22, 1989.

On Sept. 29, 1990, she married Andrew Michael Gavula. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2008.

Leona is survived by five children, Mary Lee Logue of St. Petersburg, Cynthia Diane Hill of Franklin, Larry Lance Brison and his wife, Kay, of Guyton, Ga., Lorelei Lane Campbell and her husband, James, of Yorktown, Va., and Steven Boyd Brison and his wife, Heather, of Franklin. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; three stepchildren, Shirley Havlak and her husband, Russell, of Lilburn, Georgia, Andrea Bauer and her husband, Ray, of Glenshaw, and Nancy Shane of Wildwood; six step-grandchildren, and two step-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by three sons, William Clinton Brison, Theodore Harold Brison and Barry Kent Brison, and two sons-in-law, Ralph Logue and Robert Hill.

<B>GAVULA — </B>Friends of Mary Leona Boyd Brison Gavula, who died Monday, June 21, 2010, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>HILE FUNERAL HOME,</B> 802 Grove St., St. Petersburg. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Foxburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dan Myers, church pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Foxburg Cemetery. The Order of Eastern Star Parker City Chapter 60 will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.Memorial contributions may be made to the Foxburg United Methodist Church, P.O.
