Clarence Timblin
Clarence L. "Curly" Timblin, 90, of Butler died at 9:12 p.m. Monday in the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia in Cabot.
Born Dec. 10, 1919, in Butler, he was the son the late Edward Timblin and Myrtle Thompson Timblin.
Mr. Timblin was a life member of Community Alliance Church and a former Sunday school superintendent, trustee, and governing board member. He also was a member of the church choir.
He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the South Pacific.
He retired from Butler Armco Steel Co. after 42 years.
Mr. Timblin is survived by four daughters, Gloria Frenchak and her husband, Harry, of San Antonio, Texas, Sandra Amos of San Antonio, Texas, Kerry Wells and her husband, Roger, of Houston, Texas, and Konny Wellington of San Pablo, Calif.; four sons, Randy Timblin and his wife, Patti, of San Antonio, Texas, Rick Timblin and his wife, Diane, of State College, Jim Brys and his wife, Jan, of Warren, and Ron Brys and his wife, Dorothy, of Austin, Texas; 54 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Pearl VanScooten of South Pasadena, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Timblin was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam B. Timblin, who he married on Nov. 12, 1971, and who passed away on Jan. 9, 2008; two sisters; and two brothers.

"Curly" Timblin, who died Monday, June 21, 2010, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Community Alliance Church with Pastor Dennis L. Krajacic of Community Alliance Church officiating. Internment will follow in Mount Royal Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Alliance Church Memorial Fund, 800 Mercer Road, Butler, PA 16001.
