McCANDLESS — A 2-1 loss to host McCandless on Saturday gave the Butler Township 14s their second loss of the PONY North Host Area Tournament, thereby eliminating the squad.

Butler had opened the tournament with a tough 6-5 loss to Johnstown Thursday, which included a controversial play at the plate to end the game.

Adam Schaffner allowed just two hits over six innings while Cory Wheeler pitched a hitless seventh inning.

Butler Township, however, committed three errors in the 2-1 loss. Tanner Gilliland had Butler Township's lone hit, a single.

On Friday, Butler Township staved off elimination by downing Ingomar 6-4 as Wheeler tossed a complete game, allowing just three hits with eight strikeouts.

Wheeler also smacked a double and home run while Jake Stoner added two doubles and a single

BUTLER TWP — Lyndora fell to North Hills 6-3 in a Quad Palomino Zone playoff game at Highfield Park Sunday and was eliminated.Today at 3 p.m. at Highfield, the Cincinnati Storm will square off against the Youngstown Astro Falcons at 3 p.m. The winner will face Lynhaven (Va.) at 5:30 p.m.The winner of that contest will advance to the Palomino World Series.

CORTLAND, N.Y. — Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis is holding out from training camp, locked in a contract dispute with the team. Revis did not report with the rest of the teammates Sunday as they arrived for the start of camp.
