Julie Spinder
Julie Spinder, 87, of Lyndora died Monday evening.
She was born Feb. 28, 1923, in Lyndora, a daughter of the late Frank and Anna Kikuc Onufrak.
Julie was a homemaker, mother and grandmother who greatly enjoyed cooking and was an excellent baker.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora. She also was a member of the Ladies Guild at her church and a former member of the Coffee Break Bowling League.
Her husband, John Spinder, who she married Feb. 1, 1942, preceded her in death on May 10, 2006. A son, Timothy J. Spinder, also died in 2009. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family as she also was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
Surviving are two sons, Robert A. Spinder of Austin, Texas, and Daniel E. Spinder and his wife, Barb Spinder, of Poolesville, Md. Six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive her.
<B>SPINDER </B>— Friends of Julie Spinder, who died Monday, June 28, 2010, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora with Father Robert F. Oravetz, pastor, officiating.
