2:35 p.m. Thursday — Norman Loy Kendall, 31, who has no known address, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after being arrested on an outstanding warrant from Pennsylvania Probation and Parole. Police spotted Kendall walking through the property of Genessee & Wyoming Railroad off South Monroe Street. During a search, police found a drug kit with numerous empty heroin stamp bags, a burnt metal spoon, several syringes, a crack pipe containing burnt residue and a tourniquet in his shorts pocket.7:10 p.m. Wednesday — Police obtained a warrant for Paul Donald Jarvis, 41, of Butler after he refused to turn himself in following a domestic dispute in which he allegedly attacked his ex-wife, Kimberly Jo Jarvis, at their residence at 320 First St. Jarvis allegedly grabbed his ex-wife, whom he lives with, by the back of her head and slammed her face into a door during an argument. He then fled the house with their 4-year-old daughter. When police spoke to Jarvis over the phone, he denied assaulting his ex-wife. Jarvis claimed she likely did it to herself.Wednesday — Jake Kastelic, 73, of Butler reported the theft a $100 CD player faceplate from his vehicle and six cassette tapes from his wife's vehicle while they were parked overnight at the rear of his residence at 200 Brown Ave. Both vehicles were unlocked.Wednesday — Donna Smith, 52, reported the attempted theft overnight of her lawn ornaments at 114 Brown Ave. Although the items, which were secure with cable, were not stolen, the head of a 2-foot St. Francis statue was broken off.

1:50 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by a 17-year-old Harrisville boy and a car driven by Amanda Powell, 21, of Mercer collided at the intersection of Springfield Church and McCurdy roads in Jackson Township, Mercer County. The impact spun the boy's car. No injuries were reported.Tuesday — Duane Lindey, 44, of Pine Township reported a burglary at his residence at 225 Tieline Road. Between 6 a.m. and 5:15 p.m., a vehicle was driven through Lindey's yard. There was forced entry into the home and an undisclosed amount of coins and prescription medicine stolen. Anyone with information about the incident should call police at 724-662-6162.

July 20 — Shear Excellence reported a burglary that occurred overnight. After gaining entry through a rear glass window, the thieves damaged two vending machines and removed an unknown amount of coins and salon equipment and supplies. Anyone with any information is asked to call Grove City Police at 724-458-7925.July 30 — A 14-year-old girl was charged with simple assault and a 13-year-old girl was charged with harassment following an altercation at the Country Fair store on West Main Street.
