12:10 p.m. Sunday — Laurie R. Crawford, 28, of Butler was caught allegedly shoplifting at the Kmart store in Pullman Square. Police said Crawford is accused of taking $233.06 in merchandise, including clothing, vitamins, salt water taffy and handbags. She is charged with retail theft.7:11 p.m. Friday — Trevis T. Hardrick, 44, of McKees Rocks, Allegheny County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he allegedly struck two parked vehicles while backing up a minivan on College Street. Hardrick drove away following the accident, stopping on Cross Street.Hardrick, police said, is charged with DUI, hit-and-run, driving with a suspended license and improperly backing a vehicle.

8:45 p.m. Saturday — Joshua J. Miller, 18, of Butler was hurt when his car was rear-ended by another car at Route 173 and Etna Road in Slippery Rock Township. Miller was taken by ambulance to an unspecified hospital with unknown injuries.Police said the other driver, Charles J. Airgood, 19, of Slippery Rock, was cited for careless driving.5:07 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Daniel P. Donovan II, 22, of Pittsburgh struck the rear of a sport utility vehicle on Route 8 just east of Old Route 8 in Brady Township. Police said Donovan was cited for driving at an unsafe speed. Robert C. Thomas, 32, of Polk, Venango County, was driving the SUV.5:45 a.m. Saturday — A pickup truck driven by Timothy J. Ace Jr., 21, of Hillards struck and sheared off a utility pole along Route 138 in Washington Township. Police said Ace was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.Saturday — An unknown burglar tried but failed to break into a trailer home on Sanke Road in Parker Township.Police said the suspect first attempted to pry open the front door, then tried to get into a window that houses an air conditioning unit. The attempted burglary happened between 11:30 a.m. and 10 p.m.9:45 p.m. Thursday — Two vehicles were hit with corn cobs thrown from woods on Mahood Road, east of Shroyer Mill Road, in Center Township. Both vehicles sustained dents and other damage. Police have no suspects in the vandalism.Thursday — A silver iPod Nano worth $165 was stolen from a pickup parked at a Conway Drive home in Oakland Township. The theft happened between 7:50 and 9 p.m.4:21 a.m. July 29 — Ashley M. Jacobson, 28, of Pittsburgh was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her car struck a pole at the weigh station on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township.

2:29 a.m. Saturday — A tractor truck driven by Kenneth L. Lipscomb, 57, of Butler ran over a motorcycle that moments earlier had crashed on Route 66 in Clarion Township. The driver of the cycle, who police did not identify, was able to get off the road despite injuries from the first one-vehicle crash.But because of his injuries. the driver was unable to get his cycle off the road. Lipscomb was unable to stop his vehicle in time and hit the motorcycle, which became lodged underneath the truck and was dragged for about 575 feet.11:49 a.m. Friday — A pickup truck driven by Theodore T. Schmader, 35, of Lucinda and a car driven by Mark E. Giles, 49, of Rimersburg collided at Route 368 and Clarion Street in Callensburg. Police said Schmader was cited for a stop sign violation.Thursday — An unknown burglar broke into a home on Route 68 in Toby Township. A police report did not say if anything was taken in the burglary between 6:30 a.m. Wednesday and 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

9:55 p.m. Friday — A 41-year-old Sarver man, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Routes 356 and 28 in Buffalo Township, Butler County.

Sunday — Police reported they are investigating an 11-year-old boy's allegation that a 15-year-old boy repeatedly raped him over the period of a year beginning in 2008 at different locations in Pine Township.Saturday — An unknown thief stole a home theater system from the Bose Factory Store at Prime Outlets in Springfield Township.

July 29 — Someone between July 26 and 29 broke into four vehicles in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. Money, lottery tickets and flashlights were stolen from the vehicles parked on Shaffer and Princeton roads.
