Kimberlee Lang
Kimberlee Lang of Rockton, Ill., was chosen for eternal life with God on June 19.
Born Kimberlee King in Butler on April 6, 1958, she married Edward Lang on April 20, 1985. The two recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
Without a doubt, the focus of her lifework was her boys, Jordan and Tyler. She sacrificed much to be a stay-at-home mom and was the driving force behind the social and educational development of her children. Her recipe included loving and nurturing with a strong dose of responsibility and consideration for others. She volunteered at her boys' schools and was very involved in their schoolwork throughout their education. Her boys are her legacy.
Kim was always interested in working with young people and did so much to shape their lives. She taught jazz, ballet and tap dancing for many years, in addition to coaching the girls' Seneca Valley High School dance team. She, along with the other "Queens" (Angie, Mary, Betsy and Tracey) were instrumental in the funding and construction of a new running track and soccer field at Stephen Mack Middle School.
She not only touched young lives in a positive way but also her many adult friends and family. Never wanting to be the center of attention, Kim was able to effectively influence people in a low-key manner. She could make known her strong beliefs while always being courteous to a fault.
Strong willed and determined, Kim's biggest fight was a 3½-year war against the breast cancer that eventually took her life.
Kim was a person of strong faith and a member of the Roscoe United Methodist Church.
Surviving are Kim's husband, Ed, and children, Jordan and Tyler, all of Rockton; her parents, Don and Daneen King of Butler; a brother, Kent King of Savannah, Ga.; a sister, Kelly King of Surprise, Ariz.; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Beverly Greer of Ellwood City; sisters-in-law, Margie (Metcalfe) King of Savannah, Ga., Debbie (Lang) Frishkorn of West Pittsburg, Pa., and Sherry (Lang) Thomas of Zelienople; several aunts and uncles; and many loving friends.
