Frances Reichart
Frances "Fran" Reichart, 87, originally of 1112 Chestnut St., Franklin, who recently relocated to Maryland and was residing in Charlotte Hall, Md., passed away at home on Saturday.
Fran was a member of the St. Paul's Community Church, Sugarcreek Township.
She attended the Petrolia School and enjoyed leatherwork, other crafts, cooking and entertaining. Fran was an avid reader and enjoyed learning new things and developed expertise in collectibles such as Goebels, Hummels, glassware and handmade dolls.
She and her husband encouraged both of her daughters to obtain more education and made sure that both were college educated.
Prior to marriage, she owned a restaurant and after her daughters were grown worked for Mawhinney Jewelry Store, Dale Wilson Jewelry Store, the Dale Powers Murphy Store and the 7th grade school cafeteria in Franklin. She also owned her own gift shop prior to her husband retiring, and she and her husband traveled after his retirement in the United States, Europe and Mexico. They vacationed winters at St. Pete Beach in Florida for many years.
Fran Reichart was married on July 7, 1945, at the St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Sugarcreek Township.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Merle Reichart; and two daughters, Murial Ann Frontino of Tioga, Pa., and Attorney Marie Palmquist of Charlotte Hall, Md.; three grandchildren, Richard Frontino and his wife, Missy, of Greensboro, N.C., Amy Lavo and her husband, Ray, of Endicott, N.Y., and Frederick Palmquist of Denver, Colo.; four great-grandchildren, Nichole and Katyline Frontino of Greensboro, N.C., and Brandon Lavo and Abigail Lavo of Endicott, N.Y.; and a sister, Julia "Babe" McCall of Parker.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Ferdinand "Fred" Rottman, Thomas Rottman and Karl Rottman; and one sister, Ann Rachel Williams.
