Dianne Rockenstein, 58, of Butler passed away Tuesday morning at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Butler on March 31, 1952, a daughter of Audrey Tonini Caputo and the late Anthony L. Caputo.

She was a graduate of Butler High School, Class of 1970; and then graduated from Butler County Community College with a practical nurse certificate. Dianne also was a graduate of Slippery Rock University with a bachelor's degree in psychology and also received a master's degree in counseling psychology from Slippery Rock University.

Dianne was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian and also a member of the Psi Chi Honorary Society in Psychology, the American Psychological Association, the Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement, the Butler County Humane Society, Humane Society of the U.S.A. and the Jane Goodall Society Association for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

She was a pet bereavement counselor and enjoyed writing and was a talented artist.

Surviving are two daughters, Tina Marie Rockenstein of Butler and Mrs. Lisa A. Lombardo and her husband, Paul, of New Castle; her mother, Audrey Tonini Caputo of Butler; two brothers, Frank A. Caputo of Butler and Dennis L. Caputo of Seattle, Wash.; and two grandchildren, Geno and Max Lombardo of New Castle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas S. Rockenstein, who passed away Nov. 17, 1982; and her father, Anthony L. Caputo, who passed away Dec. 24, 2008.

<B>ROCKENSTEIN</B> — Friends of Dianne Rockenstein, who died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday from St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, Meridian, with the Rev. James Murphy, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
