Richard D. "Dick" Sullivan, 73, of Hilliards passed away Tuesday evening at the Grove City Medical Center after an extended illness.

Born Feb. 7, 1937, he was the son of the late Robert "Red" and Bessie Brothers Sullivan.

Dick was married to Ellen Yates on Nov. 18, 1996. She survives.

He was a high-lift operator for many years with Quality Aggregates, C&K Coal and Washington Township, as well as various other organizations throughout his life.

He was a social member of the VFW in Cherry Valley and the Snowmobile Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who spent a great deal of time hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife Ellen, he is survived by three daughters, Sherry Lynn Mechling (Joe) of Parker, Cindy Greenawalt of Emlenton and Laura Lee Buttray (Carl) of Meadville; one stepdaughter, Debbie (Bill) Dunkle of Murrinsville; one stepson, Edward Pago of Seneca; six sisters, Dolly (Bill) Schreffler of Emlenton, Peggy (Ted) Krujewski of Slippery Rock, Mary Jane Bartley of Emlenton, Helen (Larry) Linaman of Emlenton, Roberta (Robert) Gates of Emlenton and Linda (Homer) McHenry of Knox; four brothers, James and Paul Sullivan of Hilliards and Frank and Robert, Jr., Sullivan of Emlenton; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by two brothers, John and William Sullivan.

<B>SULLIVAN</B> — Friends of Richard D. "Dick" Sullivan, who died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home</B>, Main Street, Eau Claire. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
