Ruth Helen Harris
Ruth Helen "Grammy" (Weinbrenner) Harris, 62, of Butler entered into eternal rest Saturday at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.
Born Oct. 23, 1947, in West View, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Teresa (Kantner) Weinbrenner.
She was a 1965 graduate of North Hills High School. She was a school bus driver and drove for the South Butler and Butler school districts.
She was a member of the Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church. She was involved in the Saxonburg Area Girls' Softball Association, where she was a coach, board member and tournament director for many years. She also was a member of various bowling leagues. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, softball, movies and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her loving children, Dawn (Charles Miller) Chaney of Spring Grove, Roxanne (Phil) Cypher of Butler and Eric Harris of Crofton, Md.; her grandchildren, Laryssa (Cal) Dittman of Butler, Courtnay Chaney of Spring Grove, Alexys Harris of Butler, Therysa Wise of Butler, Billy Wise of Butler and Philip Cypher of Butler; her great-grandson, Cammrin Dittman of Butler; her sister, Evelyn (Joseph) Dinkel of Pittsburgh; her brother, Raymond Weinbrenner of Pittsburgh; her mother-in-law, Eleanor Grousosky; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; and AFS students, Vivian Hernandez and Diane Green-Leitch and families.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Benner Harris, who passed away April 6. Their 43rd wedding anniversary was Sept. 2.
<B>HARRIS</B> — Friends of Ruth Helen "Grammy" (Weinbrenner) Harris, who died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Thursday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Al Semler officiating.
