Thomas Bernard Schweiger, 70, of Cranberry Township died Friday.

Born July 22, 1940, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Robert and Martha Fletcher Schweiger.

Mr. Schweiger was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lovi, Cranberry Township.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he retired after 28 years with the Leopold Co. in Zelienople.

He is survived by his wife, Rita (Miller) Schweiger of Cranberry Township; seven children, Margie L. Gettings (Brent) of Raleigh, N.C., Glenn A. Schremmer (Roberta) of Ellwood City, Gary S. Schweiger and Thomas B. Schweiger Jr., both of Cranberry Township, and Rick B. Schweiger (Mary Ann), Tammy R. Schweiger and Terry A. Schweiger, all of Ellwood City; a brother, Ronald Schweiger of Pittsburgh; a sister, Marlene Rau of Zelienople; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He also is survived by nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Randy Schweiger, who died in 1973; a brother, Robert Schweiger; and a sister, Shirley Valentine.

<B>SCHWEIGER</B> — A memorial service for Thomas Bernard Schweiger, who died Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lovi, 1001 Freedom Road, Cranberry Township.
