PITTSBURGH — Penguins defenseman Zbynek Michalek and forward Arron Asham are expected to be out about two weeks with shoulder injuries.

Michalek hurt his right shoulder Monday at New Jersey and sat out Wednesday against Toronto.

Asham injured his left shoulder late in the preseason and did not play during the first week of the regular season. He skated in practice Thursday but is expected to miss another two weeks.

Brooks Orpik is sitting out with an injured groin, leaving the Penguins with only six healthy defensemen for their 4-3 loss to the Maple Leafs.

PITTSBURGH — Former Blue Jays manager Carlos Tosca, just hired as new Atlanta Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez's bench coach, has interviewed for the Pittsburgh Pirates manager's job.Tosca is the seventh candidate to interview with the Pirates since John Russell was fired on Oct. 4. Among the group was John Gibbons, who succeeded Tosca as Toronto's manager.
