GOOD NIGHT'S HUNT

It was a good night for raccoon hunting as Gerald Wetzel, left, 19, of Bradys Bend, his dog, Lady, and Paul Lucas, 16, also of Bradys Bend, found out Oct. 21, 1964, during an outing near Kepple's Corners. They and five companions treed and killed seven ringtails. The seven raccoons taken on this hunt brought the boys' two-day total to 12. They sold the pelts to a local fur buyer. Twice during the hunt, two raccoons were taken from the same tree. More recently, representatives of the Pennsylvania Game Commission spoke to Butler County hunters Oct. 12 and announced changes in hunting seasons for bear and fall turkey.
