Shirley M. Heitzer
Shirley M. Heitzer, 62, of Butler died Saturday in the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia
Born Feb. 22, 1948, in Slippery Rock, she was the daughter of the late Mike DeVore and the late Goldie Ross DeVore.
Mrs. Heitzer retired in 2010 after 42 years as an electric tester on cores at Magnetics in East Butler, where she worked with her circle of friends.
She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church. Shirley was an avid motorcycle rider and enjoyed going to the beach at St. Augustine, Fla.
She enjoyed tatting, knitting and crocheting and also loved to read.
Mrs. Heitzer is survived by her husband, Tony P. Heitzer, whom she married on Nov. 30, 1968, at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church; a son, Eric P. Heitzer of Butler; three sisters, Janie and her husband Dick Campbell of Butler, Nancy Burns of Herman and Linda and her husband Chuck Gibson of Slippery Rock; a sister-in-law, Pam DeVore of Grove City; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Heitzer was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Mike DeVore.
<B>HEITZER — </B>Friends of Shirley M. Heitzer, who died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. James W. Dolan officiating.
