Oesterling

M. Irene Oesterling, 88, of Sioux Falls, S.D., died Saturday at her home.

She was born M. Irene Landgraf on Sept. 28, 1922, in Butler. She grew up in Butler, where she received her education.

She was united in marriage with Richard W. Oesterling in Pennsylvania. Irene moved to Sioux Falls in 1972, and among her employers were OSHA, the VA Hospital and the Sioux Falls Public Library.

Upon her retirement, she continued to live in Sioux Falls until the time of her death.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Cindy (Dale) Drew of Sioux Falls, Ed Oesterling of Emery, S.D., Tim (Cora) Oesterling of Mitchell, S.D., Russ Oesterling of Pima, Ariz., and Deny (Joanne) Oesterling of Tacoma, Wash.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her sister, Annagrace Holt of Butler.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; a sister; her grandson, Jason; and her granddaughter, Katrina.

<B>OESTERLING</B> — A funeral Mass for M. Irene Oesterling, who died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the St. Michael Catholic Church, Sioux Fall. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery in Sioux Falls.
