New charges added in assault of child
MERCER An Ohio man was arraigned Wednesday on new charges that he sexually assaulted a young girl in Pine Township and Grove City between December 2007 and July 2009.
Daniel Keith Dennis, 37, of Columbus, who was already in the Mercer County Jail for allegedly assaulting the same girl in Sharon, was arraigned on a list of additional charges filed by state police
Those new charges include two counts each of rape, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and two counts of indecent assault.
Columbus police last month picked up Dennis on a pair of arrest warrants issued for the alleged assaults in Mercer County. The girl was 6 and 7 when she was assaulted, authorities said.
He was brought back to Pennsylvania and arraigned Nov. 5 on the charges that the Sharon police filed. Those charges include two counts each of rape, aggravated indecent assault, sexual assault, and aggravated indecent assault.
Additional charges include two counts each of sexual abuse of children, possession of obscene and other sexual materials, corruption of minors and indecent exposure.
He is in the Mercer County Jail on $100,000 bail.
