Mabel L. Cleland

Mabel Louise (Hartzell) Cleland, 90, formerly of Prospect, passed away Tuesday at Sugar Creek Rest in Worthington.

She was born Nov. 14, 1919, in Fombell and was the daughter of the late Charles and Laura Blinn Hartzell.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Prospect, where she served years ago as an elder.

She was raised in a farming family and then married into a family of dairy farmers. She was always proud to say that farming was their lifestyle.

She enjoyed quilting, gardening and going to Keenagers, the senior citizens' group in Portersville. She loved volunteering at the Prospect Fire Hall and cooking at the fireman's eat stand at the Big Butler Fair.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Richard (Marilyn) Hillwig of Chicora; her son, Alan D. Cleland of Prospect; four step-grandchildren; eight step- great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. William (Helen) Sproat of Passavant in Zelienople; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Cleland, who passed away in 1984; and one sister, Josephine Hartzell.

<B>CLELAND</B> — Visitation for Mabel Louise (Hartzell) Cleland, who died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2010, will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the <B>Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home</B>, 387 Main St., Prospect. The funeral service will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Rob Allison, pastor of The Presbyterian Church of Prospect, officiating. Interment will be at the Portersville Bible Church Cemetery.For more information go to www.raisleyfuneralhome.com.
