SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock Area Parks and Recreation will have Breakfast with Santa Claus from 9 to 11 a.m. Dec. 4 at the recreation center.

Breakfast is $5 each. Craft making, cookie decorating and photographs with Santa will be offered.

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University's Performing Arts Series will present “Scrooge in Concert” at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2 in SRU's Miller Auditorium.Tickets are $22 for adults, $20 for seniors and youth under age 17, and $8 for SRU students. SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock Area Parks and Recreation will offering baby-sitting hours to help residents with their holiday shopping.The first time is Dec. 3, from 3:15 to 10 p.m. at Slippery Rock Area Elementary School.The cost for one child is $20; family rate is $25.The service also will be offered from noon to 8 p.m. Dec. 4, and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 5 at the park and recreation building, 320 N. Main St.Saturday and Sunday's per day cost is $25 for one child; $35 for family rate.Those who register for two dates will receive a $5 discount. Registration is due Tuesday. SLIPPERY ROCK — Asra Nomani, a former Wall Street Journal reporter, author of “Standing Alone: An American Woman’s Struggle for the Soul of Islam” and journalism professor at Georgetown University, will present “The Paradox of Women in Islam” lecture at Slippery Rock University Dec. 2.The 7:30 p.m. lecture will be in the Advanced Technology and Science Hall Auditorium.
