Derek Davenport
Derek Jon Davenport, 30, of Butler passed away Tuesday at Allegheny General Hospital.
He was born April 9, 1980, in Butler, the son of Patricia (Edwards) Ray of Butler and David Davenport Jr. of Butler.
Derek owned and operated D&D Tree Service with his brother.
He was an avid speed skater in his younger years.
Derek graduated from Butler High School.
Surviving are his mother, Patricia Ray and his stepfather, Gordon Ray, of Butler; his father, David Jr. and his stepmother, Joan Davenport of Butler; two brothers, David Davenport III of McKees Rocks and Brian and his wife, Megan, Davenport of Lyndora; a stepbrother, Gary Ray of Butler; four nieces and three nephews, Rhiannan and Maya Davenport, Dawson, Bayden and Ella Davenport and Gary Jr. and Isabella Ray; his uncles, Tom (Jessie) Edwards and Robert (Tara) Edwards, both of Butler; and three aunts, Betsy and her husband, Vic Cheeseman, of Portersville, Patty and her husband, David Chisholm, of Prospect and Susie and her husband, John Rooney, of Massachusetts.
He was preceded in death by his stepbrother, Frank Ray; his maternal grandparents, Courtland and Florence Edwards; and his paternal grandparents, David and Marion Davenport.
<B>DAVENPORT</B> — Friends of Derek Jon Davenport, who died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, will be received at <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Panther, of First United Methodist Church, officiating.
