Mary M. McMichael

Mary M. McMichael, 93, of Zelienople died peacefully Wednesday surrounded by her family at Creek Meadows Personal Assisted Living.

Born Oct. 16, 1917, in Butler, she was the daughter of Frederick and Isabelle Whitmyer Shoup.

Mrs. McMichael was a longtime member of the Park Presbyterian Church, Zelienople, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and choir member.

She retired as a cafeteria worker at the Connoquenessing Valley Elementary School after many years of service.

Mrs. McMichael cherished her grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

She is survived by her son, Robert W. (Clara) McMichael of New Sewickley Township, Beaver County; a daughter, Phyllis (Freeman "Sonny") Barger of Vienna, Ill.; four grandchildren, Dr. Robert W. McMichael Jr., Elizabeth McMichael, Brian James Barger and Mary Lou Crews; four great-grandchildren, Joshua, Grace and Andrew McMichael and Jacob Crews; a nephew, Jack McMichael, and a niece, Lynn Makinster.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C. Wayne McMichael, who she married June 16, 1941, and who died May 16, 1992; two brothers, Robert and Charles Shoup, and a sister, Helen Makinster.

<B>MCMICHAEL</B> — Private graveside services and interment for Mary M. McMichael, who died Wednesday. Nov. 3, 2010, will be at the English Lutheran Church Cemetery, Zelienople.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Park Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 115 E.
