David Lee Cupps
David Lee Cupps, 69, of Butler passed away Monday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice unit.
He was born in Pittsburgh, Nov. 7, 1941, and was the son of the late Richard and Bess Cypher Cupps.
He formerly was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Hutchinson Cleaners and was also a former constable in the city of Butler.
He was an avid NASCAR and Steelers fan and enjoyed country music and frequenting the Burger Hut 2 with friends and family.
David was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Department, the French and Belgium Club, the Italian Society of Butler and the Buffalo Township Ambulance Service.
Surviving are his wife, Donna Lavorini Cupps, to whom he was married to for 39 years; one daughter, Dawn M. Warner and her husband, Gregory, of West Sunbury; two brothers-in-law, Ronald Lavorini and his wife, Gloria, of Butler and Robert Lavorini and his wife, Norma, of Butler; special cousins, Cindy Simpson of Lyndora and Michael Mudrick of Highfield; a special nephew, Mark Lavorini and his wife, Ronata, of Butler; a niece, Sherry DeCelle and her husband, Mark, of Otis, Mass.; and nephews, Brian Lavorini of Bellaire, Texas, and Larry Lavorini and his wife, Kay, of Arnold, Md.
<B>CUPPS </B> Friends of David Lee Cupps, who died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, will be received in the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave., Butler, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. There will be no visitation Thursday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated from St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church Friday at 11 a.m. with Father James Dolan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Michael Cemetery.The Bereavement Group of St. Michael Church will meet at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home to conduct a scriptural wake service.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
