Loyal J. 'Jim' McCormick Sr.
Loyal J. “Jim” McCormick Sr., 72, of Jamestown, formerly of Butler, died Tuesday at UPMC Horizon in Greenville after long battle with cancer.
Born June 5, 1938, in Renfrew, he was the son of John and Margaret Estella Fehl McCormick.
He was a Methodist.
Mr. McCormick was a 1956 graduate of the Penn Township High School and retired in 1987 from Armco after 30 years.
Jim loved to play and sing country music and had a band, “Easy Loving,” for many years.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of the Pymatuning Sportsmen's and the Greenville Moose clubs.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret “Peg” Bowser McCormick, who he married March 9, 1957, in Butler; four children, Cheryl (Joseph) Dropp of Gibsonia, Pam (Keith) Bicehouse of Prospect, Loyal “Jamie” (Marcia) McCormick Jr. of Butler and Scott (Denise) McCormick of Jamestown; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Darlene (David) Thompson of Butler; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren and two brothers.
<B>MCCORMICK</B> - Visitation for Loyal J. “Jim” McCormick Sr., who died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the <B>Royal-Coleman Funeral Home</B>, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville, where services will follow at 8:30 p.m. with Pastor Mike Popik officiating.In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, Crawford Unit, 505 Poplar St., Suite 310, Meadville, PA 16335.
