Sarah J. (Conner) Shick-Shakley

Sarah J. (Conner) Shick-Shakley of Grant Street, East Butler, went home to be with the Lord at 9 a.m., Wednesday.

Born in Phillipston, Clarion County, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Dale Conner and Lillian (Nelly) Conner.

Mrs. Shakley worked at the J.C. Penney and Montgomery Ward stores.

She was a member of the East Butler Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Shakley went to Union High School, where she was a first line violinist and an honor student.

Mrs. Shakley is survived by two daughters, Lana K. Dero of East Butler and Nancy Engle and her husband, Fred, of Butler; two grandsons, Ray Hay Jr. of East Butler and Thomas Engle of Manchester, England; three granddaughters, Chris Rettig of East Butler, Sherry Carson of East Butler and Kimberly Cameron of Butler; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Carole (Bev) Whitmer of East Butler and Edna Delaney of Butler; several nieces; and one nephew.

Mrs. Shakley was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Shick, who passed away in June 1979; and by her second husband, Dr. John Shakley, who passed away in September 2007.

<B>SHICK-SHAKLEY </B> Friends of Sarah J. (Conner) Shick-Shakley, who died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, will be received at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler, Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Mary Kitchen of East Butler Presbyterian Church officiating.
