Bernice E. Koch
Bernice E. Koch, 98, formerly of Mars, died peacefully Saturday morning, with her loving family at her side at her daughter's home in Slippery Rock, where she resided.
Born in Pittsburgh on Oct. 10, 1912, she was the daughter of the late William and Rose Hausenberger Sunder.
A homemaker, Mrs. Koch was a member of St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church in Mars and was a member of the Christian Mothers of the Church.
She is survived by five daughters, Lorraine Barnett of Mars, Jeanne R. Zoeller and her husband, James, of Valencia, Lois Harvey of Sarver, Dolores Holler and her husband, Duane, of Slippery Rock and Bernadette Sheaks and her husband, David, of Columbus, Ohio; her brother, William Sunder of Pittsburgh; her sister, Mary Freund of Pittsburgh; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert M. Koch, whom she married on July 31, 1934, and who died on Jan. 29, 1979; by two brothers, Earl and Edwin Sunder; by a sister, Isabel Dideon; and by two great-grandchildren, Michael and Sammy.
