NEW YORK — Cliff Lee is returning to the Philadelphia Phillies, the team that traded him nearly one year ago.
The free-agent pitcher reached a preliminary agreement on a $100 million, five-year contract with the Phillies, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press Monday.
The agreement is subject to the 32-year-old left-hander passing a physical, the person said on condition of anonymity because the agreement was not final.
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — The New York Jets assistant coach who tripped a Miami Dolphins player during a game has been suspended without pay for the rest of the season, including the playoffs, and fined an additional $25,000.Sal Alosi, the Jets' strength and conditioning coach, will begin serving his suspension immediately and will have no access to the team's practice facility.

Illinois, Indiana, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue and Wisconsin will be in the Leaders Division, with Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska and Northwestern in the Legends Division.
