Tedman G. Farren

Tedman G. “Ted” Farren, 59, of Grove City, Pine Township, Mercer County, died at 6:28 a.m. Tuesday at his home. He had been ill since July.

Born in Grove City, March 16, 1951, he was the son of Wilbur D. “Toad” Farren and Laura J. Miller Farren.

He married Janet H. Glance on Jan. 7, 1984.

Ted began his career at 16 when he went to work for George Campbell in the asphalt business. He purchased the company in 1985 and continued under the name of Campbell Asphalt Products Inc., Grove City, which was sold to James Molloy in 1995 and then later was bought out by the Glenn O. Hawbaker Co., Barkeyville.

Mr. Farren was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Grove City, where he formerly served on the board of trustees within the church. He was an active member in the church and past president of the Methodist Men.

He was a 1969 graduate of Grove City High School and a 1973 graduate of Grove City College.

He belonged to F&AM Lodge 603, Grove City, where he received his 25- year pin. He also belonged to the New Castle Consistory, the Mercer County Shrine and the Zem Zem Shrine, Erie.

Ted was an avid outdoorsman and a member of the Little Trap League. He was a lifetime benefactor member of the NRA and a member of the Grove City Sportsman's Club.

Surviving are his wife, Janet at home; two sons, Adam J. Farren at home and Matthew J. Farren and his wife, Sarah, of Austintown, Ohio; and a brother, Terence W. Farren and his wife, Carolyn, of Grove City. Also several nieces and nephews survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, David John Farren; and a brother, Gary L. Farren Sr.

<B>FARREN</B> — Funeral services for Tedman G. “Ted” Farren, who died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, will be at the Grace United Methodist Church, 210 S. Broad St., Grove City, at 11:30 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Willard Morse and the Rev. W. Steve Morse officiating. Burial will be at the Old Annandale Cemetery, Cherry Township.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Grace United Methodist Church, c/o the Trustees, 210 S. Broad St., Grove City, PA 16127; the Sharon Regional Hospice and Palliative Care, 2320 Highland Road, Hermitage, PA 16148; the American Heart Association, Western Pennsylvania Chapter, 10 Duff Road, Suite 304, Pittsburgh, PA 15235; and the American Cancer SocietyArrangements by the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, Grove City.
