Congressman-elect Mike Kelly, R-3rd, has been selected to serve on two House committees, the Oversight and Government Reform Committee and the Education and Labor Committee.

Kelly released his appointments today.

In a news release, Kelly said, “When I considered where I could utilize my business background to tackle government spending issues and burdensome regulation that hinders job creation, the Oversight and Government Reform Committee was near the top of the list. I could not be more thrilled with being appointed to this committee.

“The Oversight and Government Reform Committee is tasked with offering real government reform measures and providing oversight over the entire executive branch.”

The release also states Kelly is enthusiastic to serve on the House Education and Labor Committee because of his dedication to education, the nine institutes of higher education in the 3rd Congressional District and the amount of labor and employment issues that are important to his district and its constituents.
