Peter Romano
Peter Joseph Romano, 86, of Zephyrhills, Fla., passed away Monday.
He was born Aug. 5, 1924, in Lyndora. He was the son of Joseph Peter and Amelia Romano.
He was a graduate of Butler High School, Class of 1941, and he was a management engineering graduate of the Pittsburgh Technical Institute, Class of 1953.
A World War II veteran of the Pacific theater, he served in the U.S Navy.
He retired from Armco Steel, Butler Works, in 1985 and relocated to Zephyrhills, Fla.
A man of diverse talents, he was self taught in farming and music and also was avid in golf, bowling, dancing and woodcarving. He also was a pro shuffleboard player.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Jane Romano (Wood); four sons, Joseph Peter (Sally) of Worthington, Ohio, Bruce (Kathy) of Madison, Ohio, Philip (Susan) of Painesville, Ohio, and Michael Romano of Yorkville, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, Peter, Lauren, Anne-Marie, Michael, Kristina, Nicholas, Dominic, Anthony, Matthew and Kelly.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Esther (Lauteria).
