Nocera

Pasquale “Pat” Nocera, 84, formerly of Clinton Avenue, passed away Monday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Argentine, Washington Township, April 3, 1926, the son of the late Dominick and Francesca Chircosta Nocera.

Pat retired from Butler Armco, where he was employed for 39 years in stainless processing.

He was a veteran World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy, and he was stationed in New Guinea and the Philippines.

Pat was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, where he was an altar server and sacristan. He also was a member of the Italian Society of Butler

Surviving are three sons, David Nocera and his wife, Angie, of Baltimore, Richard Nocera of Baltimore and James Nocera and his wife, Patricia, of Butler, with whom he made his home for the past two years; one brother, Leonard Nocera and his wife, Janet, of Butler; two sisters, Mary Albert of Butler and Rita Savannah of Butler; eight grandchildren, Lisa, David, Jeanna, Matthew, Nicole, Ashley, Joshua and Timothy; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne C. Gerhart Nocera, who passed away Nov. 14, 2006; and two brothers, Bruno Nocera and Jesse “Turk” Nocera.

<B>NOCERA</B> — Friends of Pasquale “Pat” Nocera, who died Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, will be received in the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave., Butler, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church Friday at 10 a.m. with Father James Dolan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.Members of the bereavement group of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Parish will meet at the funeral home at 3 p.m. Thursday for a scriptural wake service.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Meals on Wheels or the V.N.A.
