FINDLAY, Ohio — Two former Slippery Rock University assistant football coaches joined former Rock assistant Rob Keys' staff at Findlay (Ohio) University.

Thomas Howard will be a co-defensive coordinator and Don Razzano will coordinate special teams.

Howard coached at SRU for three seasons before moving on to Lincoln (Mo.). Razzano was a volunteer assistant under Keys in 2009.

LOCK HAVEN — Slippery Rock University senior forward Maron Brown was named PSAC West Athlete of the Week.Brown averaged 25.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in two SRU wins last week, including a 33-point, 15-rebound performance in a win Saturday against Edinboro.Brown won the honor for the third time this season.

STATE COLLEGE — Nike is giving $400,000 to Penn State's libraries in honor of Hall of Fame coach Joe Paterno's milestone 400th win.Paterno and his wife, Sue, have been staunch supporters of the libraries, and one of the school's main libraries is named after the family.Libraries dean Barbara Dewey said Monday the donation will in part help pay for renovations and technological upgrades.The Paternos have contributed more than $4 million to the school during JoePa's 45-year career, including aid for the libraries.
