Judith K. “Judy” Schoeffel, 71, of Evans City died Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Feb. 2, 1939, she was the daughter of John and Helen Nicklas.

Mrs. Schoeffel was a 1957 graduate of Evans City High School and a member of Westminster United Presbyterian Church of Evans City, where she was church treasurer for 15 years.

She was an avid golfer and was a member of the Oakview Golf Club Thursday Morning Ladies League and Friday Night Couples League.

Mrs. Schoeffel had been Forward Township's tax collector for 20 years.

She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Schoeffel Jr.; one son, Edward Schoeffel (Rachel) of Cranberry Township; two stepsons, Timothy Schoeffel (Amy) of Evans City and Todd Schoeffel (Jackie) of Harmony; one sister, Helen “Sis” Richardson (Chal) of Renfrew; one sister-in-law, Lois Nicklas; and three granddaughters, Emily, Taylor and Alyssa Schoeffel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Melvin Nicklas.

<B>SCHOEFFEL</B> — Friends of Judith K. “Judy” Schoeffel, who died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Westminster United Presbyterian Church, 330 E. Main St., Evans City. Everyone, please meet at the church.
