Butler Twp. band has team spirit

From left, Tyler Cehelsky, Adam Stork, Austin Cehelsky and Jaden Cehelsky make up a band that performs a Steelers-inspired song.

With the big game right around the corner, people throughout the region are showing their Steelers pride. Terrible towels are being waved, Steelers merchandise is flying off the shelves and Steelers music echoes around Pittsburgh.

Even a Butler Township band called The Cehelsky Brothers and Adam is showing its Steelers spirit.

The band consists of 14-year-old Austin Cehelsky, guitarist and singer, and his brothers Tyler, 12, lead vocalist, and Jaden, 8, who plays keyboards and sings. Adam Stork, 15, plays bass.

The band has been together for two years.

Their new song “Steelers D,” a parody of ACDC’s “TNT,” already has received thousands of hits on YouTube.

Repeating lyrics include “Steelers D they’re dynamite. Steelers D ready for a fight. Steelers D they’re a power load, Steelers D watch them explode.”

Normally performing punk and rock and roll music, the group has appeared in Butler County at TJ’s Hideaway and Peter B’s Bar and Grill.

They’ve traveled downtown and stood outside the gates at PNC Park.

The musicians also have been opening acts for Bang Tango and Bollo Boys at Hard Rock Café in Station Square and for rising star and America’s Got Talent runner-up Jackie Evancho.

Austin Cehelsky said the idea for the band came from his father.

“My dad was in a rock band when he was younger,” Austin said. “He wanted us to start a band a couple years ago and that’s when I took up playing guitar and singing vocals.”

Ron Cehelsky, the boys’ father and band manager, believes they can be a huge hit in the upcoming months.

“They practice at our house in (Butler Township). I like to hear them sing and play so I don’t mind,” Cehelsky said. “They are going to start recording in a studio in February and we’ll see where they go from there.”

Austin added. “We just want to be famous in as little time as possible.”

Just like most people around Butler County, members of The Cehelsky Brothers and Adam hope the Steelers prevail and bring home their seventh Super Bowl ring.

Austin and Adam are students at Butler Intermediate High School. Tyler and Jaden go to Meridian Elementary.
