Jon R. Halstead
Jon Robert Halstead, 48, of Saxonburg passed away Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
Born April 15, 1962, in Natrona Heights, he was the son of Howard and Nancy (Staley) Halstead.
He worked as the main mechanic and crop man on the family farm and also was an inspection mechanic for Bluebird Bus.
He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sarver.
He was active in 4-H and FFA in his youth, showing dairy cattle.
Surviving are his parents of Saxonburg; his sisters and a brother, Rebecca (David) Griffith of Madison, Ohio, Ellen (David) Fogel of Saxonburg, Ruth (Tom) Bates of San Antonio, Melinda (Gene) Pegher of Slippery Rock and James (Linda) Halstead of Saxonburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
<B>HALSTEAD</B> — Friends of Jon Robert Halstead, who died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, Saxonburg. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Westminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. Deborah Huffmyer officiating.
