Charles Tatomer
Charles Tatomer, 83, of Slippery Rock, formerly of Ridgeville in Washington Township, passed away at 3 a.m. Monday at Trinity Living Center.
He was born March 17, 1927, in Pittsburgh. He was the son of the late Bennie Tatomer and the late Fannie Rudolph Tatomer.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II and the Korean War, where he received the Combat Infantry Badge.
He had been employed in the paint shop at Pullman Standard.
He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 243 in West Sunbury and also was a member of the Butler VFW and AARP.
He enjoyed golfing and fishing.
He is survived by one stepdaughter, Mrs. Paul (Mary Ann) Early of Butler, three stepsons, Jim (Diane) Rudolph of Parker, Joe (Cindy) Rudolph of Punxsutawney and Timothy (Donna) Rudolph of Grove City. Seven step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna M. Tatomer, who died March 4, 1993; one stepson, Jeff Rudolph; and one sister.
<B>TATOMER </B>— Friends of Charles Tatomer, who died Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, will be received at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Ledford of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in American, officiating. The Moniteau Ceremonial Squad will provide military honors at the funeral home and burial will follow in the Rosewood Cemetery, Washington Township.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Moniteau Ceremonial Squad.
