Raymond E. “Jake” “Butch” Jacobs, 59, of Clintonville passed away Friday at the Grove City Medical Center surrounded by his family following a brief battle with cancer.

Ray was born April 11, 1951, in Grove City. He was the son of the late Oral “Jake” Jacobs and Gladys Riddle Jacobs, who survives.

Ray graduated from Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School in 1969.

He married Wanda K. Parenti on July 30, 1969, in Winchester, Va. She survives.

Ray worked for Renovex in Barkeyville for three years. He also worked for several years for Grimms Garage and Sherman's Auto Body, both in Emlenton.

He was a past member of the Clintonville Fire Department for 20 years, serving as captain. He initiated many turkey shoots with his family.

He enjoyed hunting with his children, and he was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Dale Earnhardt Sr. He also enjoyed going to Bear Camp in Emporium. Above all, he was a loving father and husband who enjoyed spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife of 41 years, the mother of his four children: Sheldon Jacobs and his wife, Kathy, of Clintonville, Yvonne Shaw and her husband, Jason, of Clintonville, Teresa Diegelman and her husband, Jeff, of Emporium and Shawn Jacobs and his fiancee, Carol, of Barkeyville; a brother, Robert Jacobs and his wife, Mary Ann, of Fort Myers, Fla.; a sister, Rondia Barger and her husband, Don, of Emlenton; a brother-in-law, Larry Parenti and his wife, Ann, of Butler; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Stewart and her husband, James, of Clintonville and Sharon Roddy and her husband, Don, of Polk; four grandchildren, Jeannette Jacobs, Nicholas Jacobs, Kristen Parkin and Gatlin Rodriguez, all of Clintonville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; his maternal and paternal grandparents; and a niece, Heather Dawn Stewart.

<B>JACOBS</B> — The family of Raymond E. “Jake” “Butch” Jacobs, who died Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, will receive friends at the <B>Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home</B>, 109 Emlenton St., Clintonville, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev.
