Gerald Miller graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.He is the son of Gerald Miller.Miller graduated in 2007 from Butler High School.———Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class

Craig Cerverizzo, whose wife, Jill, is the daughter of Janet and Terry Whitehouse of Grove City, recently received a Letter of Commendation and Junior Military Person of the Quarter Award while serving at Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, Norfolk, Va.Cerverizzo resolved 165 fleet trouble calls, provided direct support to 243 commands worldwide ensuring that their systems functioned properly in support of the Global War on Terrorism. He also volunteered more than 450 hours as assistant coach at Cox High School, helping to lead the junior varsity team to an undefeated season earning the Virginia Beach City Championship.———

<B>Jeffrey Crider</B>, son of Elsie Crider and the late John Crider of Zelienople has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force.Crider, a 15-year Air Force veteran, graduated from Seneca Valley High School in 1989 and is a 1993 alumnus of Westminster College, New Wilmington.He currently is stationed at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and will be assigned to New Mexico in June.He and his wife, Jennifer, are the parents of two daughters.———Navy Seaman <B>Robert E. Thibodeau</B>, son of Tammy and Robert Thibodeau of Fenelton, recently completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.Thibodeau is a 2006 graduate of Butler High School.———Navy Seaman Apprentice <B>Michael Gordon</B>, son of Constance Gordon of Evans City and William Gordon, of Sunnyvale, Calif., recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.Gordon is a 2010 graduate of Seneca Valley High School.———Navy Petty Officer 1st Class <B>Michael Louise</B>, son of Donna and Ron Louise of Emlenton, along with about 350 fellow sailors attached to cruiser USS Princeton homeported in Naval Station San Diego, Calif., recently returned from an independent six-month deployment to the Middle East, Pacific and Indian Ocean areas.The Princeton's main objective was to patrol areas where the threat of piracy was growing against merchant vessels.During deployment, the Princeton assisted in capturing nine suspected pirates, who had taken control of the merchant vessel Magellan Star.Louise, a 1981 graduate of Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School of Foxburg, joined the Navy in June 1999.
