Betty J. Griffith

Betty J. Griffith, 86, of Valencia died Tuesday night at the Carol Timpani Personal Care Home in Gibsonia.

Born in Pittsburgh on Feb. 11, 1924, she was the daughter of Walter and Amelia Rahn Meeder, who are deceased.

Betty worked as a clerk and gift wrapper at Kaufman's Department Store in the North Hills.

She was a member of the Valencia Presbyterian Church and the North Side AARP. She volunteered at the Riverview Presbyterian Church Food Bank.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd F. Griffith, who she married Aug. 29, 1947, and who died June 29, 2001. Her brother, Robert Meeder, also is deceased.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Linda S. Carlino of Valencia and Diane I. Collins (Keith Muchow) of Mars; one son, Gary F. Griffith of Butler; and a brother, Wray (Bernice) Meeder of the North Side.

She also is survived by eight grandchildren, Amanda Anglum, James and Daniel Carlino, Katie Julian, Jessica and Dustin Griffith, Heather Nuerge and Ryan Muchow; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson Anglum and Maya Julian.

<B>Griffith</B> — Friends of Betty J. Griffith, who died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011, will be received at the <B>MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. A funeral service is Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
