CHERRY TWP — A fire this morning caused some damage to the J.S. McCormick Co. plant, 1043 Branchton Road.

Fire officials on the scene said the fire started in a bag house from an apparent buildup of dust.

Firefighters from Marion Township of other volunteer fire departments responded to the alarm, which came in about 6:30 a.m.

The company has headquarters in Sewickley. Company officials were unavailable this morning to comment on the fire.
