James K. Langharst

Langharst

James K. Langharst, 62, formerly of Harrisville, who lived at State Route 308 in Irwin Township, Venango County, for one year, died at 4:15 a.m. Saturday at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a 2 1/2-year illness.

Born in West Deer, March 9, 1948, he was the son of Kenneth L. Langharst and Betty Jane Brown Langharst.

He married Judith “Judi” A. Bell on Oct 13, 2009.

Jim currently was a night security man for the George Junior Republic, Grove City, and formerly he and his father owned/operated United Diesel in Rockland, previously in Lawrenceville, where he was a fuel injection system mechanic.

Mr. Langharst was a Protestant.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and he was a Golden Eagle with the NRA, where he was an active member.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his wife, Judi, he is survived by two children, James K. Langharst Jr. and his wife, Candice, of Seneca and Janice Bowser and Jeremy of Sarver; three grandchildren, Brittany and Hunter Langharst and Dylan Langharst Bowser.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

<B>LANGHARST</B> — Funeral services for James K. Langharst, who died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, will be at the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City, Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Lewis of West Liberty Presbyterian Church and the Rev. Gary Warinner of Bell Memorial Wesleyan Methodist Church, Boyers, officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
