Lucy 'Toni' Sherman

Lucy “Toni” Sherman, 83, of Butler died Sunday in Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born March 25, 1927, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Leonard D. Tiso and Mary Intenzo Tiso.

She married Casper Knapp Sherman of Butler on Aug. 12, 1946. They were married 55 years.

Mrs. Sherman was a data entry operator for Nationwide Insurance and Heckett Engineering.

Mrs. Sherman helped with her church youth group and with the Brownies.

She enjoyed crocheting and knitting, doing crossword puzzles, gardening and doing yard work.

Mrs. Sherman is survived by one son, Dale Sherman of Butler; one daughter, Sandra (David) Baker of Frederick, Md.; three grandchildren, Keef Morgan, Jesse Morgan and Jennifer (Scott) Henricksen; one brother, Pasquale (Caterina) Tiso of Springfield, Va.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sherman was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away Sept. 25, 2001; two sisters, Nancy Held Hovanec and Marie Angela DiClemente; and one niece, Mary Anne DiClemente.

<B>SHERMAN</B> — Friends of Lucy “Toni” Sherman, who died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, will be received at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler, Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Merry H. Meloy of Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church officiating.
