Julia 'Babe' McCall

Julia R. “Babe” McCall, 85, of Parker passed away at 5 p.m. Sunday at Clarion Hospital following an illness.

Born in Kaylor, June 7, 1925, she was daughter of late Thomas and Sophie Freiters Rottman.

She was married to Robert E. McCall on June 18, 1943, and he passed away May 23, 2008.

Mrs. McCall was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Parker.

Babe began a 33-year career with Charlotte Dean of Dean's Flower Shop in Parker. Following Mrs. Dean's retirement, Babe and her husband operated the business under the same name for many years until their retirement. Her name was well known for quality work and service to Parker and the surrounding communities.

She is survived by five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, Dennis Dean McCall in 1980, Shawn McCall in 2005, and Robert John McCall in 2007.

She was the last surviving member of her family, being preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Williams and Frances Reichert; and three brothers, Fred, Tom, and Karl Rottman.

<B>MCCALL</B> — At the request of Julia R. “Babe” McCall, who died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, a private burial service was conducted Thursday morning, and burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery, Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County.Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Parker, PA 16049.Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the <B>Buzard Funeral Home </B>of Parker.
