William F. Steck
William F. Steck, 70, of Middlesex Township died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon in the emergency room at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Pittsburgh, Jan. 16, 1941, he was the son of the late Frank William and Margaret Moore Steck.
Bill was a machinist and tool and die maker for Ibis Tek in Middlesex Township and Chelsea Building Products in Oakmont.
A member of Holy Sepulcher Church, he was a former member and emergency medical technician with the Middlesex Township Volunteer Fire Company. He also was active in the Cubs at the former YMCA.
A Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a member of the American Legion and the War Dogs Veterans' Motorcycle Club.
An avid hunter, camper, fisherman and trap shooter, he was an active member of the Mars Rod and Gun Club.
Surviving are his wife, Dolores V. Rosso Steck, who he married Jan. 21, 1961; a son, William A. Steck (Shirley Funkhouser) of Summerfield, N.C.; and a daughter, Kathleen McCoppin (Thomas Keown, Jr.) of Butler. He was the grandfather of Michael, Matthew (Robin), Kayla, Shayne, Matt, Lindsay, Lisa and David; and great-grandfather of Sagan and Madison.

Steck, who died Thursday, March 24, 2011, will be received at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
