Chimney fire extinguished quickly
FRANKLIN TWP — Firefighters Tuesday night extinguished flames in a chimney at a Minteer Road residence.
Chief Frank Wilson of the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department said this morning the blaze was put out by dropping a dry chemical bag into the chimney.-
He said the fire’s cause was creosote buildup in the chimney.
No one was injured and the occupants were able to stay in the home.
About 20 firefighters responded to the 8:15 p.m. call.
The Unionville and Portersville volunteer fire departments assisted Prospect. Crews left the scene at 9:01 p.m.
