Eugene L. Texter
Eugene LeRoy Texter, 63, of Grove City, formerly of Eau Claire, passed away Sunday morning at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born May 12, 1947, Eugene was the son of the late Harvey Franklin and Zethina Rose Wilson Texter.
Eugene was married to Denise O'Connor on July 19, 1980; she survives.
Mr. Texter retired from the Polk Center in 2000 as a supervisor.
He served four years in the U.S. Navy as well as a number of years with the National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserves, where he reached the rank of captain.
Eugene was a great outdoorsman who loved being outside and was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Melissa (David) Rager of Harrisville and Sueann Texter of Grove City; five sons, Eugene Texter II of Alexandria, Va., Randy (Jessica) Texter of Harmony, Chris and his fiancee, Vanetta, of Grove City, Justin Blum of Seneca and Jason Texter of New Castle; two sisters, Patsy (Mike) Greenert of Eau Claire and Elaine (Dave) Shook of Eau Claire; one brother, Harvey (Mary) Texter of Cranberry Township; seven grandsons; one granddaughter; and six nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by one sister, Rosanna Karenbauer.
