Sharon Ann Hays

Sharon Ann Hays, 63, of Butler passed away at 8:40 a.m. Friday at Mercy Hospital following an extended illness.

She was born Aug. 7, 1947, in Butler. She was the daughter of William “Bus” Dillaman and M. Edna Johnston Dillaman.

She was a former member of the Ridgeville Methodist Church.

She had been employed at the Moniteau High School and the Marion Township Elementary School before its closing. She also baby-sat for several families throughout the years.

She loved camping, sewing, crafting, meeting with her classmates from the Moniteau Class of 1965, and her granddaughters.

She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Hays, who she married, March 31, 1973; her father, William “Bus” Dillaman of Whiskerville; her son, Ryan Hays and his wife, Erica of Butler; her granddaughters, Lyric and Fallon Ann Hays; one sister, Mrs. Rick (Bonnie) McCandless of Boyers; one brother, Mark Dillaman of Whiskerville; her mother-in-law, Elsie Hays of Butler; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Frank (Melanie) Pelkofer of Hooker and Mrs. Carl (Nancy) Frank of Allison Park; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Dillaman; one sister; one nephew; and her father-in-law.

<B>HAYS</B> — Friends of Sharon Ann Hays, who died Friday, March 4, 2011, will be received at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Ridgeville Methodist Church with the Rev. Wayne Berkey officiating.Burial will be in the Rosewood Cemetery.In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the family.
