Paul E. Nevel
Paul E. Nevel, 83, of Parker passed away Friday evening at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.
Born in St. Petersburg, Clarion County, Dec. 25, 1927, he was the son of Harold E. and Margaret Irene Ketner Nevel, who are deceased.
He was affiliated with the Assembly of God-Chapel on the Hill near Emlenton.
Paul was employed for 30 years by Pullman-Standard of Butler, until the plant closed. He then assisted with drilling oil and gas wells. Paul also enjoyed operating his own recycling center from his Parker home.
Paul is survived by his wife, Lillian Marie Phillips Nevel, who he married May 19, 1951; three daughters, Linda Nevel of Parker, Lois Robinson of Richmond, Ky., and Rita (Timothy) Thompson of Saxonburg; one son, Bruce (Amy) Nevel of Slippery Rock; 11 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
He also is survived by a brother, Harold D. “Pete” (Shirley) Nevel of Emlenton; five sisters, Helen Raybuck of St. Petersburg, Bernice McCoy of Knox, Betty Davenport of Sligo, Georgie (Sam) Landers of St. Petersburg and Barbara (Bob) Grossman of Slippery Rock; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy J. Nevel, who died Feb. 11, 2011, a son, Ronald Paul Nevel, who died July 29, 2007; a sister, Phyllis Cotherman; and a brother, Robert Nevel.
